Deadly Dozen Worlds 2027: which races count, and the cut-off

The qualification window for Birmingham closes 31 May 2027 — and two listed races miss it by five days. Every official rule and date, in one place.

Verdict

If you want a place at Alexander Stadium in September 2027, the only results that count are official Track Races between 1 June 2026 and 31 May 2027 — so Middlesbrough on 17 April and Bristol on 24 April 2027 are the safe late UK picks, and anything on or after 5 June 2027 is worthless for this cycle. Don't bank on a Deadly Sprint entry qualifying you: the organiser's pages never say it does. And don't budget for Birmingham yet, because no championship entry fee has been published.

The qualification window for the Deadly Dozen World Championship 2027 opened on 1 June 2026 and closes on 31 May 2027, and the organiser’s own calendar lists two races — Macclesfield and Deadly Gross Fürth, both on 5 June 2027 — that miss it by five days. If you are planning a season around Birmingham, that arithmetic is the whole story.

This is a rules-and-dates piece, not a race report. I have not raced a Deadly Dozen event and I am not at Alexander Stadium. Everything below comes from the organiser’s published pages, read on 6 October 2026, with one third-party source flagged where it conflicts with what the organiser says.

What is confirmed about Birmingham

The championship is at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, in September 2027. The organiser’s own page says the exact dates are “to be confirmed”, so September is as precise as anyone can honestly be right now.

The organiser’s Alexander Stadium venue page gives the address as Walsall Road, Perry Barr, Birmingham B42 2LR, but that page is roughly 13 months old and was built for an earlier event there. It carries nothing about 2027 parking, access or schedule, and I would not treat it as championship logistics.

Things I could not find published anywhere on the organiser’s site: a championship entry fee for qualified athletes, spectator ticketing, ticket prices, or a total field size. If you see those figures quoted elsewhere, ask where they came from.

One correction worth making before anyone calls Birmingham the first Worlds: BOXROX reports that an inaugural Deadly Dozen World Championships already ran at Crystal Palace with 2,500 athletes, with Rachel Hodgkinson and Fabian Eisenlauer crowned singles world champions. That is a third-party report and I could not find organiser confirmation of it in this session, so I am not going to number the editions either way.

The window, and what it kills

The qualification page is blunt about it: qualification uses official Track Race results inside the season window, and results outside it do not enter the World Championship standings at all. An all-time personal best from 2025 is irrelevant. The championship page states the window twice — 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027.

Two more mechanics from the same page. Your most recent race determines which age group you qualify in, and your best time within that age group is the performance that counts. And qualification is on time alone — a podium at a regular race does not create an automatic place.

Here is how the organiser’s live calendar, as displayed on 6 October 2026, falls either side of the line.

Macclesfield5 Jun 2027 (see note)No — five days late
Edinburgh19 Jun 2027No
Crawley26 Jun 2027No

The Macclesfield note matters. The organiser’s main calendar and its UK races page do not agree on whether the spring Macclesfield track race is 8 May or 5 June 2027 — one is inside the window, the other is not. If that is your last-chance qualifier, check the individual race page before you pay. The safer UK bets are Middlesbrough on 17 April and Bristol on 24 April 2027, confirmed for Yate Outdoor Sports Complex.

The Sprint question I could not answer

The qualification page and the FAQ both say “every official Track Race inside the qualification window counts”. Neither page I read names Deadly Sprint, Youth, Ultra, Gross or affiliate Gym Races as counting or not counting.

That is a live ambiguity rather than a pedantic one, because the calendar page groups “the original 12-run fitness race plus Sprint, Youth, Ultra and Gross” together under the heading of track races, while the Deadly Sprint page says only that “Sprint results are officially timed and added to the wider race ecosystem” — which is not the same sentence as entering the Worlds standings. Four of the UK dates in the window are Sprints.

So: Track Race results are confirmed to count. Sprint and Gym Race status is not stated on the official pages, I have asked the organiser, and I am not going to tell you a Sprint entry qualifies you when the organiser has not.

The four ways in

RouteWho it coversHow many
Global top 12Each age group, per division12 fastest in the window, wherever they raced
Host-country round-robinCountries that hosted an official Track RaceRemaining places; every country’s number one before any country’s number two
Regional championship podiumAge-group podium at a regional championshipReserved places, taken from that country’s own allocation
RelayMale, Female, Mixed180 fastest teams per division, no age split, no country allocation

All four are from the qualification page. Two details carry real consequences.

First, the country pool is set by where you race, not your passport. The organiser’s own example is that a result from a race in BC or Alberta enters Canada’s pool. For a US-based athlete, a US race result enters the US pool regardless of nationality.

Second, the regional-championship places are not extra. A podium at an Americas Championship reserves you a place, but it comes out of your country’s allocation. The page I read did not list which regional championships exist for 2026/27 or when they are.

Relays sit on a completely different mechanism — a flat top 180 per division, then exactly two categories at the championship itself: Overall and Masters, where Masters means a team average age of 50 or over. There are no per-age-group relay categories.

Watching your own position

The organiser’s FAQ says you can check your qualifying position yourself on the championships leaderboard, filtering by division and age group; relay teams filter by division only. Positions stay open to displacement until the window closes, and a new result can take up to a week after a race to appear. In other words, being inside the top 12 in January means nothing until 31 May 2027 has passed.

Track Race divisions themselves are Solo, Pairs and Relay (teams of four). Pairs complete the runs together and split the Labours as they choose; relay teams take turns, one Journey and one Labour at a time. Races are open to anyone aged 18 or over on race day, with separate Youth races on the calendar. If the format is new to you, our explainer on the twelve laps and twelve Labours covers it, and the series sits on our races page.

What an entry costs, with a caveat

I could not open a currently bookable qualifying race’s price in this session. The Bristol page confirmed date and venue but not cost.

The most recent organiser-published figures I could read come from two races that have already taken place — Crawley on 8 August 2026 and Macclesfield on 12 September 2026 — and both listed the same prices:

DivisionEntry
Solo£80.00
Pairs£130.00
Relay (team of four)£130.00

Figures from the organiser’s Crawley and Macclesfield race pages, checked 6 October 2026. Treat them as the last confirmed price points, not as today’s shelf price for Sheffield, Middlesbrough or Bristol. I have not converted to USD because I could not source and cite a dated exchange rate, and an undated conversion is worse than no conversion.

One piece of good news for anyone booking a qualifier early: the FAQ states that entries can be transferred to another athlete free of charge from the athlete dashboard until the race closes three days before the event, with team entries transferred individually by each athlete.

And again — no championship entry fee for Birmingham has been published anywhere I could read. Qualifying is not the same as being paid for, and nobody should assume it is included.

If you are juggling qualification cycles across series, our pieces on how a HYROX Worlds slot actually works and DEKA Worlds qualifying and rolldown lay out how differently each organiser handles the same problem.
