The bar for a post
A post publishes only if it has something you cannot already get from the first page of Google. At least one of these has to be true: a measurement taken first-hand, a price actually paid or listed with the date it was checked, an original photo of the item, a failure or wear pattern found in use, or a comparison that does not exist elsewhere — landed cost from overseas against local retail, including taxes and shipping, for example. If none of that applies to a topic yet, it does not get written up.
How gear gets tested
Every item is bought at retail. Shoes get at least 100 km of mixed running and at least one race or full simulation before they are written about, including sled work on carpet-over-concrete rather than gym turf, because that is what most race halls actually give you.
Why there are no scores
A number out of ten flattens the only question that matters, which is whether a shoe suits your race. Each review ends in a sentence naming who should buy it and who should not.
How prices work
Prices are RRP in US dollars unless marked otherwise, checked by hand on the date printed beside them. They move constantly, so treat them as a reference point and check the retailer before buying.
How it is written
Drafting is AI-assisted — research, structure, first passes and metadata are automated. The testing, the measurements, the photos and the verdicts are not. Every review is built around gear that has been used, and every price quoted is one that was actually paid or listed.
